Preserving the Heart of Green Cove Springs
Protecting our historic roots and natural future through dedicated community stewardship and conservation efforts.
The Green Cove Springs Preservation Society is dedicated to the stewardship of Green Cove Springs' rich heritage. Our mission is to protect and promote the area's historical and cultural resources through community engagement and educational initiatives, ensuring that our natural and historical legacy is preserved for future generations.
Our Stewardship Programs
The Green Cove Springs Preservation Society uses heritage education to connect residents and visitors with the rich history, traditions, and natural resources that define our community.
Through historic walking tours, architectural tours, speaker series, exhibits, educational programs, and the Rivers House Heritage and Adventure Center, we bring the stories of Green Cove Springs to life.
By preserving local memories, photographs, and traditions while offering hands-on learning opportunities for all ages, we foster community pride, encourage stewardship of our historic and natural treasures, and ensure that the heritage of Green Cove Springs continues to inspire future generations

Community Engagement
The Green Cove Springs Preservation Society believes preservation is most successful when the entire community is involved. We provide numerous opportunities for residents to participate through volunteer service as Heritage Hosts and Hostesses, event assistants, tour guides, marketers, photographers, fundraisers, and beautification volunteers.
Through community events such as Rivers House Porch Fest, Twilight Architectural Tours, environmental walks, speaker series, heritage celebrations, open houses, and family-friendly programs, we create meaningful opportunities for people to connect with one another and with the history and natural beauty of Green Cove Springs.
We engage youth and families through programs like Camp Heritage, interactive history and environmental activities, and community service opportunities that encourage appreciation for local heritage and natural resources.
Working in partnership with the City of Green Cove Springs, the Village Improvement Association, Clay County Historical Society, schools, churches, civic organizations, businesses, and individual residents, we bring together diverse talents and interests in support of the Rivers House Heritage and Adventure Center.
Through these collaborative efforts, we foster community pride, celebrate the unique character of Green Cove Springs, preserve cherished traditions, and inspire residents to become active stewards of our city's heritage and natural environment
